The Russian ballet erupted in the end of the 17th century, and soon became one of the most iconic ballets in the world. One of the reasons for this was the plays authentic way to show what the hard political climate actually made the Russian people feel underneath, without the veil. 

I was intrigued by the idea of a whole country hiding under a veil, and the concept of the art being one of the few channels people have for expressing how they truly feel. My concept is based around this façade and the two sides present, both for the dancers themselves but also the underlying representation of the life of the audience. It starts off just like the play, with a calm and elegant intro and some time in the play the reveal turns everything around and you realize there is much more underneath than what you first thought. I have also implemented hand written type to represent the distraught personality that is constantly hiding.
